Our venue is the historic Olowalu Plantation House, a charming oceanfront setting offering breathtaking views for sunset and whale watching. With the magnificent West Maui Mountains on one side and the coconut trees and Pacific Ocean on the other, you will be transported back in time and grounded in old Hawaii. When night falls, we will dance under the moonlight as lanterns twinkle upon the sea.

Olowalu has always been considered a place of refuge, or pi’u honua, by Hawaiians. Many often describe it as a magical place — and we certainly felt it when we first stepped onto the lush land.

Yep! #RayaGetsMauid

Yes! We would love for you to take photos with your phone or camera, but please refrain from doing so during the ceremony. We are having an unplugged ceremony, as we would like to be in the moment with you all.

If you do take photos, please use the hashtag #RayaGetsMauid

Yes — here is the link! We are mostly asking for adventure funds, as we both value experiences more than things.

Cocktail attire — a dress, suit, formal romper… Feel free to include prints, avoiding anything too loud or all-white. If you wear a beachy dress, consider it in either tea-length or maxi to avoid looking overly casual.

The ceremony and reception will be on a grass lawn and a brick patio. Wearing sandals instead of flip-flops or high heels will allow you to dance under the stars comfortably!

The day will likely be sunny and warm, but we suggest bringing a shawl in case the evening gets chilly.

Don’t forget your sunglasses!

If you RSVP’d for wedding day transportation:

  • The afternoon shuttle will depart from Wailea Beach Resort at 2pm and drop off at our venue, Olowalu Plantation House.
  • The evening shuttle will depart from Olowalu Plantation House at 10pm, making a stop at our after-party location before dropping off at Wailea Beach Resort.

Yes — If you wish to drive, there is ample parking at the venue free of cost. Your car can be left overnight, but MUST be removed by 10am on Sunday, January 7.

From Wailea or Kihei:
Take the Pi’ilani HI 31 towards Lahaina. Make a left on N. Kihei Road. Turn left on HI-30 West. Make a left at Mile Marker 15. Signs will say Camp Olowalu/Olowalu Plantation/Olowalu Village Road but are quite hard to see, so Mile Marker 15 is your best bet. The Olowalu General Store & Leoda’s Kitchen & Pie Shop will be on your right side exactly where you turn left. Enter parking lot on last driveway on right.

From Kā’anapali or Napili:
Head South on HI-30 East. Make a right at Mile Marker 15. Signs will say Camp Olowalu/Olowalu Plantation/Olowalu Village Road but are quite hard to see, so Mile Marker 15 is your best bet. The Olowalu General Store & Leoda’s Kitchen & Pie Shop will be on your left side exactly where you turn right. Enter parking lot on last driveway on right.

All guests must be off the property by 10pm.

Join us for a drink or two at The Pint & Cork in Wailea. We plan to post up at the bar with the last call at 12am.

Please include any dietary restrictions and allergies with your RSVP. We will send meal options with a future invitation.

Uber and Lyft are options on the island, but the availability of drivers varies widely, with early and late hours having few options.

Renting a car is your safest bet. And depending on where you are traveling to or exploring, having a rental car is the best option for getting around the island. A four-day rental is nearly the same price as a round-trip shuttle to/from the airport.

Yes — Maui has a strict rule on sunscreen: Mineral sunscreen only. This is the only kind sold in the County of Maui.

In January, the average daily high is 80° with a low of 65°. The water temperature is perfectly comfortable for swimming, but please remain aware of high surf warnings — awesome for witnessing the big waves though dangerous for swimming.

During January through April each year, the warm waters attract over 10,000 humpback whales to nurse their young — keep your eyes on the horizon for some incredible sights!

There are limited bank options (American Savings, First Hawaiian, Bank of Hawaii) on the island. If you need to get cash while on Maui, you’ll need to use an ATM. There are no Chase Bank, Bank of America, Wells Fargo, Capital One, etc.

We encourage everyone to be up-to-date with vaccinations. If you are feeling unwell, please stay cozy at your accommodations instead of attending the event. We love you all and want everyone to remain healthy!

Stay up-to-date with Hawaii’s Travel Requirements.

Maui Food Bank — more than 20,000 people are in need of meals amid ongoing fires

Maui United Way — money will go directly to support Maui fire victims

Maui Humane Society — emergency foster homes for its animals to help make space for new displaced pets

Maui Mutual Aid Fund — run by volunteers looking to get funds and support to vulnerable residents, elderly, those with physical disabilities, renters and individuals without insurance

Mahalo — Thank you (pronounced mah-hah-loh)

Howzit? — How are you? (pronounced how-zit)

A hui hou – Until we meet again (pronounced ah-hoo-wee-ho-oo-uu)

For extra credit… try to pronounce humuhumunukunukuapua’a (Hawaii’s state fish) — there will be a test!

Sadly no — RSVPs and invitations will be addressed to each guest specifically.

Unfortunately not — unless your invitation specifically includes children (i.e. flower girls and ring bearers), the wedding will be adults only. Infants under 12 months old are exceptions.

If you’re planning to bring the kids along, Maui has many child care services such as The Nanny Connection.

The bride and groom will be arriving on Maui at the end of December to celebrate the New Year.

Informal pre-wedding festivities will take place starting Thursday, January 4 in advance of the wedding celebration on Saturday, January 6.

Hopefully you’ve done this already :)

Flights: Check online for the best prices to Maui (OGG) as they tend to be cheaper the earlier you book (and keep watching to see if fares go down in case you can get a price adjustment).

Accommodations: We suggest staying in the Kihei/Wailea area. Please plan a 45+ minute drive to the venue (if there is an accident on the road, there is no detour and you could be delayed a long while).

Please visit our Maui Travel Guide page for our room block info, other hotels, dining options, and more.

We understand it’s difficult to make travel arrangements so far in advance, but try planning a wedding 5,000 miles away!

We kindly ask that you RSVP by the date noted. This will allow us to confirm the guest count by our vendors’ deadlines.

Yes — we plan to host a post-wedding celebration in February 2024 in NYC… stay tuned for more details!

View our Maui Travel Guide for further details on flights, accommodations, activities, and dining.

Planning a destination wedding is far from simple, but it’s been a wonderful adventure. Special thanks to our incredible local Maui vendors – we couldn’t do this without them!
